A Universe is a container for everything related to one fictional world or story project — its characters, species, locations, organizations, factions, families, items, lore, events, and the relationships between them. You can have multiple universes for different projects, each completely separate.

Yes. WritersKeep works as a story bible for novelists — keep track of characters, locations, and lore, map their relationships, and maintain continuity across a standalone novel or an entire book series. Everything stays organized in one place, so you spend less time searching scattered notes and more time writing.

For now, you can manually create entities and paste in your existing notes. Structured import from common writing formats is on the roadmap.

When you link two entities (e.g. a character to a location), WritersKeep records the relationship type and direction. You can then navigate from any entity to see everything connected to it, or view the full graph as an interactive visualization.

Your data is stored securely and belongs entirely to you. Manuscript chapters can be exported as TXT, DOCX, or PDF on any plan. On the paid plans (Author and Sage), you can also export everything at once — every universe, entity, connection, timeline, and manuscript — as a ZIP of JSON files with your images included. We will never lock you in.

Absolutely. WritersKeep's entity and relationship system maps naturally to TTRPG world-building workflows — campaigns, factions, locations, and lore all have a natural home here.
